Wilmington, NC:  Day one of our trip to Hilton Head, Island, SC and Panama City, FL
Tour of the Battleship North Carolina which served in the Pacific during World War II.
She was commissioned in April of 1941 and participated in every major naval offensive in the Pacific, earning fifteen battle stars.  After serving as a training vessel for midshipmen, she was decommissioned in 1947 and after the announcement of her scrapping in 1958, was saved through the SOS campaign and arrived in her current berth in 1961.
