Good bye, Doula

This week we lost our dear friend Ginger Burch. She and I were especially close and called each other, "Doula" meaning a close empathetic female care giver. She was the real Doula to so many people...an excellent example of Christian love and compassion. She was also funny and loved wearing outrageous clothes, sox, sunglasses....anything that expressed her joy of life and love of being just a little kooky. Mostly, Ginger was the sort of person who was there when you needed her. We will miss her. She left us much too soon. And to Dale and her kids and grands we say that your loss is ours as well and we will hold you in our hearts and prayers.

Snow Storm Round 2

The sun came out today after the snow storm left 4 more inches of snow yesterday.  Still pretty much like a ghost town on the board walk....very windy, but we have SUN!!!  And no snow in the forecast.  Roads are good so we had to get out today since we are both pretty tired of being in.....I know that anyone living in MD, DC, VA or DE can relate.  Salsas is open so Taco Night is a sure thing.  :)

Tour of Addy Sea

The Addy Sea is our local treasure.  It is one of the original "cottages" built by the Addy family in 1901.  Today is it a popular 13 bedroom Victorian B and B known for its hospitality and beauty, lovely views of the ocean, and popular venue for weddings.  Our women's club toured it today, wishing we could stay for afternoon tea and to spend the night in one of the comfy beds.

Snow Geese

We spotted some Snow Geese on the way home just south of Georgetown along Rt. 113. There must have been 4000+ geese.  The second picture shows only about a fifth of the field where they were grazing.
