Winterthur

Winterthur is the home of the duPonts near Wilmington, DE. Today we visited during Yuletide and saw the mansion's rooms decorated for Christmas as they would have been in the 1800s.
This is one of many Christmas trees displayed. All of the dried flowers on this tree were those growing in the Winterthur gardens.

The dining room is decorated in silver and white. No chandeliers in this room. Light came from many candles.

We will return in the spring to walk the gardens where peonies and azaleas grow abundantly.
