Summer ball

Last night we attended a Shorebirds (our little farm team from Salisbury, MD) baseball game because Jim wanted to take pictures of the fireworks display following the game.  Unfortunately, the game went into extra innings and it became a very late night.

New favorites

Each time Will visits the beach he finds new things to do.  This time, despite temps in triple-digits, it was playing miniature golf at the pirate put-put.  And since this requires such intense concentration, a trip to Ruthie's Bethany Beach Bakery must follow!

NYC teens

As promised, we took our oldest grand daughters Kylie and Layne to NYC this week.  Picked a major heat wave to see the Statue of Liberty, Times Square, Top of the Rock and SOHO shopping......not to forget dining on deli food and eating cookies in the 26th floor lounge of our hotel.  Back to the beach, the ocean was beckoning and the girls decided that they are not city dwellers at all!

Sunday farmers' market

The Sunday farmers' market is as summer as we get here at the beach.  What a great place to hang out!  Today I bought giant sunflowers, eggplant, local cheddar cheese (this farmer posts a picture of his cow), and zucchini for 50 cents.  Everything else I need this week will come from our garden.

First tomatoes

Here they are!  Our first crop of tomatoes picked this morning.  Aren't they beautiful?  Now to find some tomato recipes......hmmmm.... salsa, tomato pie, BLTs, etc etc.

First place

"Chinatown Market", a photo which Jim took last fall while we were in San Francisco, won him a first place in his local camera club end of year competition.  We will have it framed and add it to his already crowded wall.  Some of these framed photos will go on display (and sale) at a local art exhibit near Lewes, DE next month.

Eva wanted pink streaks in her hair for her 11th birthday celebrated today.  David, Jim and I performed the makeovers in the backyard.  You can see that her siblings joined her in the streaky look.

We shared a day at the beach with (from left) Ella, Keelyn, Eva, Kylie, Jack and Layne.  While waiting to eat at Cottage Cafe Kylie found a giant chair for a photo op.

4th of July was celebrated early on the Cove when we combined Eva's birthday, Father's Day, LisBob's and Jenni and Larry's aniversary.

Photo shoot

The girls and Jim had fun doing a photo shoot of new clothes bought at the outlets.  Jim put up the black drape and brought out all the professional looking photo equipment and they posed through many wardrobe changes.
